Jack Crevalle and Snook - Florida - Photos to follow

Florida Fishing Report

I know this isn't much, but for anyone heading down to Florida, get ready for some amazing fishing. Every time I go down there I cannot get over how much more clear the water is compared to the water in Charleston. The fish have nowhere to hide! Redfish are biting on the gulf coast right now. Pitching shrimp under docks is a sure bet. Make sure to use some fluorocarbon leader, with water that clear, the fish are going to be a bit picky. Snook and Jack Crevalle were all over the docks on the East Coast. The Jacks were willing to hit nearly anything you threw at them. I had good luck with red tailed white bass assassin paddle tail grubs rigged on a flutter hook. The snook were much more picky. Finding them at night seemed to work better. I think live shrimp would have worked well. Barracuda were all over in large schools and I even saw a couple manatees swim right under the dock I was standing on. I know that there is much more going on in Florida fishing right now, but if you are stuck without a boat, try the docks!

Good luck,

Rocky had the pleasure of the company of Todd Mahaffey Sr. from Atlanta and the two knuckleheads, Todd Jr. and his cousin A.J. from Chimney Rocky, NC 117-101 exam. (This was the second trip of the week for the trio after getting caught in a rare summer doldrums-type day on Tuesday.) We ventured into the pristine reaches of the Indian River between Vero Beach and Ft. Pierce. The slam for the day consisted of monster trout, bluefish, and ladyfish 117-102 exam. Besides the fish, other highlights included “wade-fishing” the islands, racing the boat, eating ice cold watermelons on a pirate island, and an ultra-fun tire swing found hanging over the river. The day ended by enjoying the fresh trout fillets perfectly prepared by the chefs of Grills Restaurant in Port Canaveral 156-215 exam. What a fun and full day! By the way, the Mahaffey's had a great stay at the Resort on Cocoa Beach while vacationing in central Florida
