I've owned this reel for nearly 5 years and it has worked without any problems. Mainly fishing the lakes and streams around western NY, I've hauled in a number of bass, pickerel, and the occasional steelhead. It has also been fishing in the Adirondacks where it had no trouble handling the smallies and pike. It really is a great reel for the price.
